Book Spotlight -- Deceived

Image
Hello, everyone! I'm super excited to be a part of the Launch of Madisyn Carlin's new book, Deceived! In a land built upon lies and deception, uncovering the truth can be deadly. Therese Westa is sick of death, but taking lives is what provides for her younger sisters. When a client approaches her with an unusual request, Therese takes the job offer, which includes the condition of “no questions asked”. As Therese uncovers the reason for the request, she is faced with a choice: kill an innocent man or save her sisters. Therese’s hesitation to carry out the assassination thrusts her into the aftermath of a dangerous chain of events. Caught between security and truth, Therese must choose where her loyalties lie, for the answer will determine who survives. Deceived is a New Adult Christian Allegorical Fantasy.  Doesn't it sound amazing?!?! I'm definitely reading this book just as soon as I get my hands on a copy! ABOUT THE AUTHOR:  Madisyn Carlin is a Christian, homesch...

Character Interview -- Roscoe Larete

Alright, guys, the last of the character interviews! I hope you all have enjoyed them. I've had an absolute blast writing these! (In case you missed it, here are the previous Character Interviews) Torrin Briley Cyprian Raevyn And here we go!     The Aliki cabin was a familiar sight as I walked up the path towards it.      Roscoe was already there, sitting on the porch step and letting his little dragon, Catnip, make a mess out of his hair.     I grinned and waved. "Hi! Have you been warned about the interviews?"     "Yeah." He eyed me suspiciously. "Please tell me you don't have any gut-wrenching questions for me."     "Well, it's all about your past. So..." I shrugged. "The stories don't really offer much of a chance at your backstory. And no matter how much I try to change that, I just can't seem to get a stab at figuring out your past."     He made a face, and Catnip hissed at me.     I leaned against on...

Character Interview -- Raevyn Aliki

Hello, everyone! It is once again time for a character interview!     Back in Zaraya for the second to last character interview.      I strolled down the dirt paths towards the barn. The summer sun beat down on my head and shoulders--a welcomed relief from the freezing winter back home! Maybe I'd just stay here and never leave...     Nah. Back home, the biggest threats are hawks, bobcats, foxes, and coyotes. And maybe getting licked to death by the farm dogs.      Raevyn was exactly where her mom, Lindy Aliki, had said she'd be. Behind the barn, hurling spears into the target ten yards away.      I cleared my throat, and she turned around. "Eo'aiki! I was wonderin' when you'd get 'ere. Torrin and Briley told me you're interviewin' us."     "Mmhm. Readers like getting an inside look at the characters, and I like learning more about your world and getting ideas for bonus stories and backstories and drama and ...

I strive for clean fiction, but also know that everyone has different ideas of clean. And so I like to provide the necessary info for potential readers or parents of potential readers!   Briley didn’t see the wasp until it was too late. Elyssa promised a blackberry cobbler, and Alaric promised it was the best in the world. Briley had her doubts, but it would be impolite of her to say no. So here she was, out in the scorching sun, with sweat dripping down her skin and mosquitoes buzzing around her head. And it was all for blackberries. She hated blackberries. ...
